Microsoft PowerPoint - Rememberance PlaqueWhen I start stressing out about deadlines and what Director we can get for a TV spot, or will this ad win an award or is the client upset of or not, I am reminded that this is just marketing. And life goes on…. In these tough economic times, it’s family and friendships that are the true equity that we can draw on and support.  This all came screaming to reality on Inauguration day. While watching Obama taking the oath of office, sitting at my work desk, getting work done, we received a tragic call. Two of our beloved clients from Roy Rogers were killed in a massive pile up in Maryland. Two deaths out of 50 or so cars involved in the wreck… In  two separate cars… What was god thinking? I can not tell you how tragic the news was, and still is. Barbara Pacifico was one of the most amazing positive people I have had the pleasure to know. She was the head of operations and at times the head of marketing. Lori Shiply the head of HR we got to know very well after 5 years of meetings and parties. She was always helpful in getting things done. We will miss them both….

The day did not end there, in one of life’s strange little twists, we received news of our Sr Writer Drew Magary’s latest work…. A happy healthy 7.8lb boy.

All that in a 1 hr time span. Needless to say. I took the rest of the day off….

What an emotional day. Sorry to hear about the loss of not only great people, but great partners. Sending good thoughts to all involved — families, associates, friends.
